hey, i wanted to know if it was possible to install a sloting loading dvd/ cd-rw drive from a g4 into a g3 500mhz, if not, does anyone know of a good combo drive brand i can buy instead?
...Tower or iMac or...? If you have the tray drive iMac G3 that you want to put a Laptop cd drive in-yes. If you have a tower- you can more than likely put in a desktop CD/DVD drive. If you have a laptop you can likely put in a Laptop CD drive.
Its easy with a G3 PowerBook, the drive caddy comes off with fou screws. Gotta pick the right drive though. Towers are even easier. iBook would be a bit more tricky. Have to make a bezel.
You eed to pick a drive that you know will work for any Mac though...
