On the board is the spot where the ribbon from the power button board goes. Use the process of elimination and see which combination of pins makes the machine start. I'd try that.

Im gonna try that. I found that they usb ports are probably dead as it will not power up the mac. I jumped the atx ps and and had it plugged into the mb and a red light comes on, so I know it will work, I think. Thanks for the help. I wont be able to try it for a couple of days since my main Mac went down last night. I will post that in another forum lol.
uhm... are you sure you can just plug in a ATX or B&W PSU into a Sawtooth board? i know that these PSUs are all a little bit different, so i would use it with caution. there are some very useful descriptions at xlr8yourmac about ATX-PSU conversions for the use in macs.
so far on all my similar tests, i was able use the keyboards powerbutton. or the button next to the PMU reset on the logicboard.
and i hope you have a real sawtooth board, not the gigabit ethernet which houses one additional connector for the 25V+ ADC port. apart from that they look very similar. but even the frontpanels from sawtooth and gigabit are not exchangeable. dunno why.
