Default Registered: 05/22/05 Posts: 5	Anyone tried putting a Stock standard Apple blue & white CPU into a Beige G3? I got one cheap and was wondering if it actually works? Would higher bus ratios be possible? like a 83MHz bus? I have the current 300MHz CPU set to 333 no problems and was hoping to clock the 350 from the Blue & white to 375 with a higher bus.

I clocked my old 350 b/w to 400 mhz without problems... _________________________ - iMac g5 2ghz, 1.5gb ram. - eMac 1ghz (clocked at 1.27): 1gb RAM, Dual Layer Pioneer DVD +/- RW, 80 gb HD, 160 & 250 external Lacie FW HD�s. maestro Registered: 11/15/07 Posts: 1656	Higher bus speeds are doable, but you may lose stabilty. Make sure you have faster ram in it too. I am planning to try this also. It will help if you cool the system chip. -maestro

Default Registered: 05/22/05 Posts: 5	Are there any particular types of clip on fans that would fit in a Beige? I've seen some cheap PC fans & heat sinks that may fit but are uncertain they would work as efficiently as the orignal heatsink. Could i fry the CPU if it isn't properly heatsinked?

maestro Registered: 11/15/07 Posts: 1656	Get a rev. 2 B/W g3 heatsink and put a small fan on it, that will fit. Yes, if it is installed incorrectly it could cook you cpu. As for the system controller, find a small heatsink and attach it with some heatsink tape or heatsink glue. -maestro
