I have been searching and searching for a picture of a 466 clamshell logic board because I figure that would have the right resistor configuration for us to use. But I cannot find a good photo, does anyone else know of a good photo?
good idea...compare the two and match them...any volunteers? and yeah, i looked at my logic board the other day after reading what you said, and that area is probably where the PLL config is set
Been there, wrong iBook (different processor). I would love to get 433 out of it, if not 466... hehe. just waiting to get my hands on an ibook 466 logicboard.
did it...seems to run faster, but nothing will confirm clock speed. system profiler and about this mac show the original speed, but there is a noticable increase in speed. according to the instructions i should be running at about 450mhz with a 82mhz bus speed....
theres the comparison of my two xbench scores before and after overclocking...my overclocked score compares very well with the 466mhz machines....especially considering that the 40gb drive that i swapped in from my brand new ibook g4 is considerably slower than the 60gb drive i had in the clamshell before overclocking
yes, 66 to 82 is quite a jump. no problems so far B) . the thing i was concered about the most was the ram, but theres no noticeable problems...i booted to a kubuntu live cd and went through the motions there and I couldnt make it break
I wouldn't be too worried about the bus speed increase, original white iBook owners have been increasing their 66mhz bus to 100mhz for awhile. I can't wait to try this on my indigo iBook.
