Hi I was wondering if it is possible to get say a dual 800mhz daughter card from a Quicksilver G4 and get it working in a Digital Audio G4. I know that they share the same TS connector.
But will it boot-up and work? Or will I have to do some firmware hacking?!?!
Is it possible to get a hold of say the powerlogix firmware patch and try that to get it working?

yes it's works...
i have a dual 800 QS processor in Digitla audio motherboard, but L3 cache don't work...
That's odd, the L3 cache should work. It may be dead.
I've had a QS daughter card running in a Gigabit Ethernet for more than a year. As a matter of fact, both are overclocked.
The QS card will require an additional 12v of power, which can be provided in the form of a spliced yellow 12v line ( the yellow cable to one of the hard drive molex plugs ) and connected to the fourth bolt dropout on the card, using a bolt, a washer, and two nuts.

That's awesome Antonio. You should do a writeup(Mod Guide), even if it's easy to explain, with a couple pics. I'm pretty sure other people would find it handy to have a picture of one functioning.

Yeah, I'm throwing it all into a new rig... with a new logic board.
I was just fiddling with some AGP stuff, and killed it. And two graphics cards. ( ouch! :pinch: )
I'm pretty bummed about it. I'm the only one I've known to have a GE board running stable at 133mhz and with all four RAM slots working. And I killed it
I'm sure I can do it again though, if I do it in exactly the same manner. I do have an old thread at MacAddict with a link to photos, but I'll want to do a new guide anyhow, becasue I'm rebuilding it and an actual guide would really be so much better.

Ouch indeed! Man, that's gotta hurt to see equipment go out that way. Well hopefully something was gained out of it, more than realizing fiddling with the "AGP stuff" will cause component damage.
You've got my empathy.

WELL!
GREAT news!! GREAT!!!
I just found an entire Gigabit Ethernet G4 for $175 on Craig's List! And the seller just delivered it!
YES!!
HAHA!
Anyhow, I'm putting it all in a paintied Umax S900 ATX, so I'll likely sell off a lot of spare parts, and get much of that $175 back. I can't ask for much better than that, now can I?
Now, all I need to do is move the ROM chip over on the PC Radeon 9000 I flashed, and I think it'll all be good B)

Tell me you're kidding?!
Where are you at? Here in San Francisco, inexpensive Macs are pretty easy to come by, and modded Macs often sell for much more than their non-modded counterparts... such was the case with the FrankenBerry iBook. You can also make some nice change modding other's machines
