Someone had the bright idea to take a 2.5" to 3.5" IDE adaptor and add a 3.5" IDE hard drive to their Mac mini. Looks like the speed jump is pretty good. Anyone have an adaptor laying around to test this out as well?

I know on XBOX's that people make custom covers that extend the height so you can have another HDD in there. I'm supprised no one has made custom mini-lids.
/throws out a potentially profitable idea

Actually notebook optical drives (like you get in iMacs) and notebook hard drives have different connectors. There is an adaptor to do it though and its a straightforward pin mapping so no drivers required.
Powerbook G4 Ti and iMac G3 orginal can use the same drive... tho the iMac uses a pull out rather then a slot the connector works (ik i use a Powerbook drive in it...)
