I was wondering if the Apple SuperDrive would fit in the 12" iBook G4? If so, what kind of modding needs to be done? Would it kill battery life? Thanks.
it should fit. The powerbook is a lil bit smaller. You might have some issues with it being a bit too small aournd the edges. Prolly pretty easy to fix tho......bondo? dont know if that would work of not.....may not look good when you paint it.
I was chatting to somone on MacMod irc the other day who has done it to their ibook I think it might have been modyoumac but I can't remeber. Think he said it was around $170 -$240 dollars but thats all from memeory so could be utterly wrong... please exscuse me if I'm utterly wrong!
Is your iBook your main computer? If not I wouldn't spend the money on it. It would fit. The problem with burning dvds on a portable is that it takes a long time and uses up most of the battery. Apple recommend that you leave it plugged in for burning movies and such. Answer my first question and we will go from their. -maestro
