Yes maestro is right, it PROBABLY will not work. The quicksilver has a PowerPC 7450 in it, and the MDD has a 7455. When I did my tests on processor upgrades (articles are still coming, I promise) I had to upgrade my firmware in the Sawtooth to get it to function with the the 7455-based upgrade from Powerlogix. Now, it could be that this very same firmware upgrade would make you compatible with the MDD chip, but I really can't say for sure. Can you borrow the processor before you buy it to test it out?
No luck on borrowing the CPU...I just thought maybe this might be an easier route compared to Overclocking....I think I will just go and get the parts to make that dip switch like I saw in one of the mods, that way I can always go back to the standard 867mhz if it acts funny...
Thanks and great site by the way...I am getting ready to order all the parts to keep everything cool and have a few other mods planned...I have the Non-MDD 867mhz that is rack mounted and have not seen a whole lot of mod articles for it, so maybe I will try and submit a mod guide.
