Hey, Does anyone here know how to safely pull a Radeon 7500 chip from the motherboard of a Powerbook G4 Ti??? My freind wants to spend somthing like 800 bucks on a gaming computer... but i can give him a better graphics card free, i just need to know how to remove it without destroying it... Thanx.
Krusher is right. The Powerbooks use an integrated video chipset that is hard wired to the logic board. You can pry it off if you want to, but it'll destroy the logic board and the ATI chip in the process.
Short answer: A good and generous idea. But no wont work.
Sorry bro!
Electricity tastes good. No, seriously.
It could work. You need a special soldering tool to heat the multiple pins, and then you can pull it off. Its risky though, even for someone who knows what they are doing. The hard part is replacing it and then getting it to work. A firmware update maybe. I cant believe no one has tried it before. -maestro
