Got a g3-g4 with the awesome latch case. I was taking mine apart last night and hated the thought of removing all of the parts again to get the sides off for paint (when it gets warmer out) and thought-break off those damn clips in the center! So I did. Yeah I was a little worried about it, but no big deal. They are still tight and now they are easier to get off. -Maestro

The C-Clip is the part that holds the metal rod into place for the handle to work properly. It's so small, you would have to machine one or buy a new one. Such a minor detail, but annoying. It's on the very low priority list at the moment.
Thanks for the offer.

I broke a tab on the door side by accident when doing my mod. I never thought just to break them off..
there really is no point to those tabs since there are 4 screws (which are also about the longest screws on the whole system) holding the panel on. its overkill on apples part but to fully mod you need to take it all out anyway though.
