as i wrote in another thread i will start modding a G3 into a "windows" computer. I want to put in a side window, a few lights, give it a complete paint job and i fit a socket754 AMD64 with micro-ATX mainboard into it.
I will only post a few pics (webspace), but made loads of them. I will show a complete step by step on finish (every detail). Estimated time till finish, 4-5 weeks......
My details: Just call me starfan, im a german guy livin in ireland, cork to be precise. I work in a computer sales/upgrade/repair shop.
Any suggestions, comments and tips are much appreciated. Have fun and ...well ... lets start modding!

this really seems to be a trend now. about the 7th or 8th one I have seen or heard of. best of luck.
btw, what are you doing with the guts? wanna sell any? I would buy the MB if its a rev.B. I would like to have a spare around as I want all the life I can ever get from my beloved mac.
let me know

i dont know the rev., but post you a pic later. There is also an ATI Rage card. I dont want any money for the internals, dont use them anyway. Aeehmm, the cpu is dead, my fault sorry. But the mainboard works, if u want that, we can arrange something.

that would be great. a couple things you can check to tell if its a rev A or B..
1, is the heatsink short and flat all the way across the top?
2. was there a dual drive bracket in the bottom at the back?
either way if you don't want cash I will gladly take it and of course pay for shipping. you could just send it as a gift and state that shipping will be paid by me to ups or whomever.
thanks a bunch man. you just gained 100 bonus points
btw, I'm in Vancouver, Canada

1. No, just a square black heatsink little bigger than cpu. 2. it had 2 hdd's side by side in bottom middle, and a 120mm vent-system blowing out lower backside
Just look at my link and scroll all the way down, 3 pics for u. ( close up reads: APPLE COMPUTER INC. C 1998 820-0987-A ) And the battery is missing, as u can see, need it for something.. If you like it, tell me, and i check out delivery conditions here. But you have to wait till next week though.

only bad thing about a rev A is that the ata chip for the hd won't lwork well with a slaved drive and often corrupts data. this can be solved with a 75$ ata pci card though.
you are offering it free so I will take it just in case mine ever dies. I plan on buying an ata card anyway because my dvd burner doesn't burn @ 8x very well on the b&w optical bus. its only an ata 16 (same chip apple used as the ata hd bus in beige G3's. 8x is 11MB a sec and when 16 is that max its tough so my plan is hd on ata card and dvd burner on built in ata 33 bus.
thanks again man
