A post to actually contribute to the site:

Engadget.com has an article about a solar-powered iPod.

Needs for this mod:
- Sunnto N3 SPOT Smart Watch
- iSun Solar Panel
- USB extender cable
- iPod (duh!)

thanks for that magnus. This guy actually has a good number of mods that would go well on this site. I have contacted him and hopefully we will have a bunch of them on here soon.

Cheers.

I guess it has become a trend to post nonsense to every little thing on this site, just to get ones number of posts and modder level up. Well, I guess while in Rome... frown

If you read the comments at the bottom of the engaget page:

iSun deals

I walked in to Radio Shack today to buy an adapter, and lo and behold, here's the very same iSun solar power unit for $39.97. I can't find it at their web site, but the rep I talked to made it sound like they'd had the unit for a while. This wasn't a sale, just regular price.

Also, the unit includes an adapter to let you plug in a car-charging device. (That is, something you charge in your car like a phone, not something that charges your car.) So if you already have a car-charger for your phone/iPod, you won't have to jingle with the USB hootenanny to charge your batteries from the sun. (Jingle if you want to.)

Not to belittle his effort, but didn't his come with this adapter???

This comment made me a little worried, but it is also common sense:

From ThinkGeek: "Note: A single iSun unit does not provide enough output to charge or power a laptop computer.". Does this imply it's possible to have several units run as a single power unit?
