Well, you may have noticed that the google ads are removed. Aparently there was something buggy about them. They were causing the width of the menu to expand far beyond what it was supose to. I think that one of the ads was causing it. I have contacted google on this matter. Has anyone ever heard of this? Should have them up soon. I know everyone will be thrilled! Then you can click them!

i saw that happen last night. imurf, another macmod member, accused me of killing your site. i thought it was something with the table going to 100%, because the rest of the page would load, then the header would blow up the rest. but i also had a susp. that it was the google ads, because the table width expanded, but could not tell if that was it or the header going to 100%.
wonder why that happened? you could be logged out and it would show google ads okay, but logged in and would die. trying to be of service, and i hope it gets hashed out

well I have contacted good support on the matter and I have come to the conclusion that one of the ads was causing the spacing. It was right after I added your article to the homepage. I am assuming that the ads detected a new ad at this point and there was something funny about it. I am going to wait and see if I hear anything back from them in the next couple of days. I will try it off and on to see if it has been fixed. Nothing wrong with the code, just the ads. Really strange, indeed.

Well Magnus, as you may not know, finding advertisers is not exactly a walk in the part for a site that is just starting out. Therefore google ads offer the ability to have advertisers immeditelly. I am sorry to hear that you would never click any of these ads. I understand that they do not do the best job at targeting the members of the site. However, at the moment, it is the best solution, and they do bring in a fair amount of revenue. Nothing to brag about by far, but every LITTLE bit helps. A click here in there on your part wouldn't hurt

Something is up. I added a new content item to the site and the google ads go nuts again. Its as if they are trying to display or get new data from the site and use it for the ads, but it is doing something strange. Last time the google support team told me that they can't help unless its posted on the site! Now what kind of ignoramus leaves google ads on a site when they are totally ruining it? Then he asks me to reproduce the error on another page. That isn't a simple point and click task itself. Even if I did copy the entire site to a sub directory, who is to say that the google ads will be the same.
Maybe I will have them back up in a day or so again, after they decide to work!
