Well, I was going to do a write up on this ipod but I got distracted after about 2 pages of info and the it timed out, so I lost it all. Therefore, I am just posting the pics here and gonna tell you a little about it. If you have questions please ask.
1. Its redesigned from the ground up for sure. It really is 2. The wheel in the middle is great. It is a little bit more textured than the mini, has great response. 3. Click for the wheel has a new sound and features to enable sound out of the headphone or the ipod or both or none. 4. 12 hour battery life is no joke. 5. main menu has customization. 6. main menu has a shuffle option to shuffle all songs and play then. 7. The ipod felt a little heavy and thick, but it is a 40gb ipod.
Finally, there is a hidden feature in this ipod according to apple. Im wondering?

I did some reasearch on that new hidden feature. I found it at the macworld website I'll quote it for you.
Quote:
've only had my click-wheel iPod for a few days, but today I discovered a new feature that initially annoyed me -- but now I find quite clever.
Basically, if you've only got a set of headphones (or any other device) connected to your iPod via its mini jack, and that jack gets pulled out, the iPod senses it and automatically pauses. So if you're walking somewhere and you accidentally have your headphones ripped from your iPod (hey, it does happen), the iPod will not continue to play while you regain your senses and decide what to do next.
I think it's a pretty cool little idea. I admit it might be annoying if you were just trying to quickly transfer your iPod from a speaker to headphones or back again (as I was when I discovered this feature), and it might be nice if you could turn it off. But it's still a cool little detail.

whoops, forgot to mention that. Yea, that is a really great feature. Instead of having to worry if you pressed pause or whatever, or if the hold thing is on, you can just pull the headphones out instead. This way the battery doesn't die on you! B)

Thats a great feacher. but did they make a upgrade for the gen1 i told it and it cried, told me that i dont love it anymore, told me that "What about me?" and "Don't you see your breaking us appart!" I simply responded, "what about you, the G4 is defently better!"
