Suggestions:

[ol]The navigational elements across the top of the page are not very intuitive. Either some test added to the 'alt' attribute for each, a rollover to name each, or better icons.[/ol]
[ol]I would rather see the text for the subject line in the 'Latest Forum Posts' be darker and the name of the author be lighter. I am more concerned as to whether there is something to read, rather than who posted.[/ol]
[ol]Instead of a blank box for potential advertising, make something to catch potential advertisers' eye. The blank box looks as if you forgot to do something in that area.[/ol]
[ol]Personally, I would rather see advertiser ads where the current Google ads are, and skip out on the Google ads all together. I don't know how much revenue they are generating, but they never look like anything I will click on.[/ol]

Keep up the good work!

The shockwave at the top has to go. It's a pain on platforms/browsers that don't support it (one of which I was on this morning when you asked me to take a look). It can easillybe made into an animated GIF/MNG

magnus, thanks for all the great comments. As for the rollover on the top menu, that is something that I am considering doing. However, there is some code that will be involved so that I can have the menu hilight the page that it is on, even if the other menu is used.

As for the Latest Forum Posts, I see your concern. However, its not done like that to emphysize the name and de-emphysize the topic. If you will notice, it goes with the rest of the site style sheet, the links are light grey, text is darker. It just so happends this way for this module. I might play around with it and change some stuff though.

That advertising thing was temporary. I have replaced it now, with a flash banner for the mod challenge.

With the google ads on the left hand side, I am in agreement with you that just regular ads would be better. The problem here is that we don't have any advertisers. Therefore, the google ads are the best alternative at the moment. Should the site gain more advertisers, this is an option.

Thanks for the advise,

Cheers.

I think the Flash ad is okay to have there, just a little annoying in its design. The movement does catch the eye, but gets bad real quick after watching for a second.

My suggestion would be to leave the rest of the animation, and just leav the Mod Challenge logo static.

Thanks for being willing to review my suggestions!
