I realize that you can sub to a thread by selecting the check box, but if I am taking the time to write in the thread I am interested in the topic and it should, by default sub me to the thread. Think about changing the default to this set up please. I realize it is only one more check for me but it would be nice to not have to do that every time.
I never thought about which was more popular. Ladies and Gentlemen, A VOTE!!!!! Reply to this and let us know whether you want subscriptions on or off by default (that means you receive an email when responses are posted to a topic you are also repsonding to)
I would prefer to have them off. I post mostly to provide information, add my two cents, or just to gripe (if the occassion fits). I only subscribe to things which I feel are critical to me. I do not necessarily have time to receive more email.
sorry karl. admin votes count double B) and we vote for it to remain off by default. But let me explain why. Many people don't want the nuissance of receiving and email for every response in a forum they just happened to post in. It may not be that big of a deal while we are still a small community, but as we grow, we would rather not have to remove that feature later on. So with growth in mind and avoiding excessive emailings, we are going to leave it off.
