I consider myself very lucky that I've never had a problem with any OS upgrade/update from OS 7.1 all the way through 10.6.2. The only problem that I did have was with 10.5 and the Application Enhancer conflict that I was unaware of. Once that was identified and I removed APE, the upgrade from Tiger to Leopard was uneventful.
Good lord, what a list. I'll probably wait until just before the release of 10.7. Then I'll install 10.6 and all the updates.
Seriously, for all the SL envy I suffer? All I have to do is consider anything that would jack with my work flow. The way our deadlines run ~ We don't call 'em Drop Deadlines for nothin'.
Sigh. I'll just bask in everybody else's glow. Thank you for making that easier, kate.

If your system is running well now and you are confident in it, then slam away. If you are running legacy software or have a bunch of old fonts, etc lying around then your mileage may vary. There is the option to install Rosetta if you have to rely on PPC apps. Of course, there is always TM to fall back on.

I read about some of the postscript font glitches, which is one of the reasons I switched back to Leopard. I wasn't having any problems but didn't want some glitch to happen in the middle of a big project.

My ISP filters spam and viruses for me - well, not me.com, but Earthlink catches 99.99% of the spam that comes to that account. Mail.app catches the rest and puts it into my Junk folder.

There's also a security update for 10.5, if anyone's interested.
I am. Thanks. Stopped in an Milwaukee Apple store today and almost bought 10.6 (actually held the box in my hand) but came to my senses when the clerk told me I needed the family size — I've Tiger on my Macbook and Leopard on my iMac. I think I was in the store maybe 7 minutes before I became annoyed with the ambient Apple Store noise and left.
