The first problem seems to be directly related to the Flash plugin. The first thing that I notice is that the plugin is 32bit while Safari is running at 64bit. I have no problems with Flash and FF which are both running in 32 bit.

I don't know if this is just an Adobe Flash Plug-In problem. Could be a hardware/video card problem. Or maybe a graphics driver problem? Hopefully the 10.6.2 update can fix that. This is not good for the refreshed iMac line!

I still think there is a "conflict" with running a 32 bit plug-in within a 64 bit browser. You can change Safari to run as 32 bit as referenced in this post concerning the Adobe pdf plug-in.
Sarge, you and this video card fetish. It's not the video card since my old MDD has practically no trouble with the same things. Some are choppy if the machine is doing other stuff, but I'm more inclined to agree with Michael on the plug in being the the bottleneck.

First of all, I said video card drivers, not video card. Large difference. The plug in sucks on windows too, but at least the large majority of video cards accelerate flash video properly on that side.
