If you are going to have a touch screen the operating system has to be bulletproof. The stooge was actually very calm. He did not start pounding on the icon although he did start multiple tapping. The screen would never last if the OS locks up even one percent of the time.
My iPhone has not once gone into lockup. That is why the touch screen works on the iPhone. This poor guy's screen is going to get hammered if a user continually is trying to stretch photos and open icons. We are all like Pavlov's dogs. It only takes once for it to hang for a bit until we really whack the icon to for the action to be subconsciously linked and we become icon whackers.
When my daughter was very young (maybe six) I asked her what happened to the "P" key. She said printing was slow and whacking it would make it print faster.
