You may not believe it but every organized religion does. In order to have churches and priests inside them they have to have some sort of control over the flock. Guilt is is a good control. So is vengeance if you do wrong like sin.
The egos that screw it all up are the clergy. Why not have faith without organized religion? Because the clergy would be out of a job and they need your sheckles.
If Jesus was sent again and saw what was being done in his name today he would puke on his Birkenstocks and beg to get back into heaven.

That is not the case in my church, which is one of the reasons for the rift. There are a few who believe that they have to have that guilt and control and, since the majority of us don't conform to those "beliefs," we're heretics. I like being a heretic, myself.
Seriously, why not? It's worked for me for a long, long time. I do enjoy church, but my faith doesn't begin or end there.
I wasn't joking. It would put the clergy out of business. If you need clergy to keep your faith I wouldn't call it much faith at all. Get rid of all of them. I could stand religion then and religion would not be ruining our civilization right now if we ditched them all.
