The only Konfabulator widget I miss having around is the "Drop FTP" widget, which I could set an FTP site (including the directory) in the prefs, then simply drop a file on the icon and it would upload automatically and give me a nice little notification that it's done. It's basically like an alias file to an FTP site.

Anybody know of a tool that does something similar? I want a Drag & Drop solution – If I have to open/launch/or interact in any way with the app, it's no good because I already have Cyberduck for my full FTP needs.

Thanks in advance.

Imagewell does that... but I guess that doesn't qualify since you have to "open" it.

Damn JC for taking it out of the menubar!

When did the National Guard turn into the foreign legion?
AppleScript sounds like the best option. Look for sample AppleScript droplets on the web.

If CyberDuck is AppleScriptable you can have the droplet take the file, launch CyberDuck automatically, connect and send the file, etc.

Also, here's an old one that you may be able to update:

be sure to let us know if you find something on your own that works well, because I am also searching for something like that.

--------
Ryan
Edited by morserj on 01/05/05 02:12 AM (server time).

Well, I guess I should think about what I already have before I look for something new.

Stuffit Deluxe comes with an app called StuffIt Express which allows you to set up a "Drop Box" and assign many different actions to them, including compressing the file, uploading it to an FTP site and sending an email to the FTP recipient to let them know the file has been uploaded – all Drag & Drop. I totally forgot about this app because I never actually used it, but it was simple to set up, only took about 5 minutes to set up 3 different drop boxes.
