Sending an email message in MobileMe from Mail on my mac - using special characters such as alt-8 (• the black dot character) to head list items, when the email arrives at the recipient's end, the characters have become 2 other characters instead - in this case ⢠('a' circumflex + cent sign, in case these don't show in this forum properly).

They also show that way in my Sent folder's copy of the email. Oddly, any such characters used in the message Subject arrive intact.

Is this a MobileMe bug? I'm sure this wasn't happening a couple of months ago before updates to both MobileMe and OSX, so I don't know who's the culprit.

I've posted this on the Apple Discussion board - has anyone else seen this behaviour?

Good call, as they say in Amerikee - for some mysterious reason it was on Western ISO Latin 1 - changed it to Automatic and the gibberish ungibbered.
