I have Tiger on my iBook G4, Leopard on the Mac Pro, and Snow Leopard on the MacBook. I think my old iMac G3 down in the basement has Panther on it, but I haven't used it in a couple of years. I just keep it plugged in down there to keep the battery from dying. My son stole the keyboard when his keyboard broke, so all I can do with it is just keep it plugged in now. Can't use it without a keyboard.

My TiBook is also like new but is the 800mhz one. Since I have an iPhone, I never really use it other than keeping it as a back up. I recently checked and it looks like it is only worth $200 or so.
I did cheat and install 10.5 on it via Leopard assist though.
I am running 10.4 on my old iMacs in my outbuildings and security camera server.
What is the processor speed of the laptop, 500 (PC/100 RAM) or 550 (PC/133 RAM)?
Omni has a 1G chip for $68.99 for PC/133, and $46.99 for PC/100. You get those prices if you go through ramseeker.com If you go straight to Omni it's more. The 512 is $25.99.
I did, but I had to do it manually because I can't get my router set up for my Mac.
if you want to see the movie... then this has nothing to do with your router. Open a new finder window and follow the path I posted to the movie. The movie resides on your hard drive.

Okay, here's the plan, for me anyway. Run with only the one RAM chip for a few days like everybody suggested. With all the problems you've had with it I won't spend anymore time unless you make sure it's stable with the one chip. I also would not recommend upgrading RAM and HD until you know it is stable.
As far as DW goes you're making more out of the directory report than it is. On mine I ran it and have 203,000 out of 1,561,000 items out of order. It doesn't mean anything is broken, the directory that holds the info where things are on the disk is just fragmented.
You can't "fix" the boot drive unless you boot off of the DW CD. With the small amount of RAM you have DW probably won't be able to repair anything anyway. It needs 512 minimum usually.

update: just ran fsck and it said it modified stuff. My dad was walking past and noticed the screen and he said "what did you DO!?" "it's single-user mode." "?" "you could call it the Mac OS X equivalent of the DOS interface." "ooohhhh!"

Actually, I have a USB Bluetooth dongle and a Bluetooth keyboard that works on it. So, in a pinch, if I needed it, I could resurrect it and actually use it again. Sort of like Frankenstein rises again! LOL.

I have a couple of these RAM sticks. I don't know if they'd work in your laptop--Reboot or Michael can figure that out, I hope. Anyway, if they are good to go on your laptop, you're welcome to them.
edit: not a reply to you, Trey!

My geek quotient demands that I point out there was no 500MHz tibook - only 400 and 550.
I have the 400 - and though checking online might tell you these old tibooks aren't worth much, of your case is anything near in good condition, you can get more just for the case than you can for the whole working mac - the guy at the genius bar who got all hot and sweaty over my immaculate 400MHz said I could probably get around £600 by breaking it for parts.
