Not sure where's the best place to post this - I'm using an app on my iPhone which reads/writes .xls spreadsheets. I copy the docs to/from it by logging into the app's phone sandbox using the Webdav name, e.g. http://Glimmung.local.:8080 by hitting cmd-K in the Finder and then selecting this from my server Favourites list.
What I want to know is, is there any way of making a shortcut on the desktop, so I double-click it and the server connects in the finder?

That shortcut opens a browser window (rather than a Finder one), which will serve the same purposes, but is harder to use, as it has all the hidden files showing too, and you have to do Browse-to-Upload rather than drag-and-drop bothways.
Meanwhile, problem solved: I've found a way to do it with a key combo via iKey.

Some people can't stand iKey, but I've been using it for several years, and there are very few things it won't do one way or another. The Editor interface is a bit dumb, takes some getting used to. But now I've got so many shortcuts that I forget are my personal ones - when I'm on someone else's mac I have to remember how it's done the slow way.
It may be lazy - but it also saves me some RSI.

It's a painful truth now. I'm 54, tennis elbow both arms, and I don't even play much sport. The right side has healed, the left side still hurts. I mouse left handed to keep the RSI from the right wrist. Used to hurt like the devil 10 years ago till I switched. Still bugs me if I have too much sex or something. I wear a brace to bed sometimes still as maintenance, also the drug of choice anymore is ibuprofen.
