Ballmer's talk on Windows 7, at least so far, hasn't been big enough to convince investors the CEO's on target and worth keeping. If Windows 7 doesn't deliver, and Microsoft continues to misfire on new forms of computing and service, then this could be one of SteveO's last tours of Europe as chief executive of Microsoft
No wonder the guy sweats all the time. Must suck to know everbody's finally figured out you really did screw their pooch.

I agree
Monkey boy is playing smart to not pump up Win 7 way toooo much , like Vista was pumped for the big let down .
Yes if Win 7 fails to sell , I think Ballmer days are numbered - To be honest I feel Win 7 will succeed where Vista failed . However big corps will still stick with XP for a few years after Win 7 release , unless they were one of the beta testers and knows their legacy system will work ?
One of the things that may hurt Win7 even if it's good, is the upgrade path for Windows users. VISTA users will have it relatively easy, but XP users face upgrade H3LL. And where are most Windows users ? with XP of course.
I believe most of those XP users will just wait to get a new PC and take the Win7 install from the git-go on the new hardware. I've talked with several XP users and they're not touching Win7 on their old PCs. They've become used to it and for them "it works"! (for an 8 yr old system, which Mossberg {WSJ} says is like driving a 20 yr old car )
I PRAY that Steve Ballmer STAYS in office. I would hate for MS to end up hiring someone who isn't a complete jack@ss who ends up, i don't know, INNOVATING instead of copying!
Think about it. MS has the money to do virtually anything. If it were run by someone with vision and a little common sense, they would be quite dangerous to Apple!
