Good for you. Personally, I would think that department would be the best department to be in. In departments like paint or flooring, customers can burn up hours of your time agonizing over the simplest decisions.
At least in tools and hardware, customers will pretty much be looking for specific items. Zip, boom, voila...off they go.
I hope it paves the way for a full time position for you.
A theatrical leg. Funny, though, as I was walking my dogs, one of my students, who's playing the lead in a performance tonight, ran past--that's the way he prepares, he said. So as he stated up again, I yelled, "break a leg." I waited a beat. "In the theater!"
