My concern runs along the lines of ~ Would I say "fill in the blank" in front of a 12-year old? I like kids, but this place can easily run into the Adult Content area. Shrug. Just sayin' . . .

I think Trey's a couple years on one side of 30 or the other.

And speaking of 73-year-olders, Kate: You're just a few months younger than my Mom, IIRC. I sure wish she had your sense of adventure, curiosity and sticktoitiveness when it comes to computers. She'd have a lot of fun with it if she'd just not let her trepidation scare her away from doing more than passing along stupid jokes and YouTube kitty-cat links. She wants to do a cookbook, and I've set her up with a template in Pages, but she Just. doesn't. get. it.

When I first started participating in the forum (back then it was MacCentral) I was impressed with this woman named KateSorenson who would argue politics with the forum's most obnoxious ultra-conservative posters (was his name Joshua or something like that??) ... it wasn't until many years later that "Kate" posted a photo of herself (sitting on her recliner, at her mac, with everything in the photo labeled "food", "mac", ect). I sent her a message and told her that I had always pictured her as a wildly independent 30-something Seattle hipster type ... and even today I think of Ethel that way

Everyone needs to remember that along with keeping Stan's work alive, Neil wants to try and incorporate a technical forum into his long established MacTech website. These things cost money to operate. In order to accomplish that he needs to get more users, so there can't be a 40 year old age limit or something. We've had excitable people before, we still do, even in us old farts. I mean we even have one that admits he's an unreasonable man.

We're all different personalities, and thanks to free will we all have the option to not click on a topic, or we have the option to read past someone if you don't think it would be up your alley. We do that now anyway, not everyone here meshes.
