I got no love for MS, but dumping a relatively mature office suite for a shit-stain of out-of-date tech and GUI is probably not the answer.
I wish I could fall in love with one of these free open source office suites. But I've yet to see one that didn't make me vomit at the sight of them. They're horribly ugly, horribly bloated, horribly slow, and utterly horribly horrible! Ya feel me?
By the way, if you know of one that doesn't suck, please share a link, cause I truly am interested. I use Apple iWork, but I'm not attached by any stretch of the imagination.

I kinda like NeoOffice, but I don't use it on a daily basis. It is slow to launch (JAVA driven gui), but after that, it works fine. I also like NisusWriter Pro for a very nice wp.
I like iWork for most of my needs ... Pages and Keynote trump Word and PowerPoint in my book, However Numbers isn't quite there yet, but I do use it for many things, but when raw number crunching Excel is still the best.
I use iWork for all my home office needs. But then again, my needs are relatively simple.
I'm actually searching for a free office suite where I work to replace the numerous installations of MS Office. Problem is, the company is basically run off of MS Outlook - we would most likely still have to purchase that. I don't think (maybe I'm wrong) that Mozilla Thunderbird works with the BlackBerry servers.
