I know a lot of Republicans, conservatives ~ it comes with the territory down here ~ and they don't connect with the tea bagger/birther/Obama = End of Daze fringe. Their politics are on the other side of the fence from mine, but we talk and argue and rib each other. We don't scream and insult and threaten.
I dislike, intensely, extremes on both sides.
If Democrats only judge Republicans by the angry faces that make a good news story, how can they muster shock and dismay when they're judged in kind? Because Democrats aren't angry, unhinged, irrational? If you ever think that's not possible, cruise through DemocraticUnderground. I check the place out every couple of weeks, just to remind myself that Liberals can indeed be arrogant, cruel and closed minded.
So, it's a full circle, and ~ Same as it ever was.
Anyway, I'm outta here, looking at ten days work down in the Rio Grande Valley. But I very much appreciate your conversation, and I've always thought the world of your company ~ And I know that's been lost when I've dissolved into insults, arrogance and bull headedness, unbecoming to a MacBabe.

How about we judge them by how they vote in Congress or the way they choose to debate the important legislation before them? The minority leadership has publicly stated that will kill any attempt at reforming healthcare. Zero votes on the Recovery Bill. A single vote on the Budget, only a handful on the House energy bill ... but they hope to introduce legislation to challenge Obama's citizenship. <bleh>
Then there is the hilarity of Texan GOP Leadership.
This kind of continued BullShiit only enforces my belief that there should be only one party and that one is for the people . We vote on their platform for change , not this silly stupid Democrat or Republican mantra
We need to grow out this "political party system" all it does is divide the country
That's a lazy solution. It's the scream-and-flail-at-rational-debate crowd (Dems and Repubs) that can divide the country. But intelligent debate wherein constructive ideas are exchanged — it's called Challenge & Build — improves and expands ideas.
You can have differing ideologies as long as each can recognize the benefits of bringing best practices together for the good of the country — not the good of the party.
A one-party system would bring nothing but stagnation — not to mention the seeds of anarchy.
