Since I don't post or even browse the political forum I take it things have been somewhat hostile in there. I just won't discuss politics or religion. What's the point? I have NEVER been in an argument or debate about either subject that changed the minds of the people debating the subject. I won't waste my time that way.
I think this is in the wrong section because I haven't seen anything like that here in Stan's Lounge.
I'm moving this to the political section.
My original post was not in the political soapbox section, because I NEVER go there. It was not in reply to any one incident in particular, so no one missed anything. As for homophobe: "phobe?" I don't think so. There really ought to be a more accurate word to be used by homosexuals to describe people they think don't like them. I'm not looking for any trouble with that last statement, except maybe with the originator of the word "homophobe" in it's current usage. that person was not well versed in word origins and meanings. No I'm leaving the soapbox, and I won't be back again, unless it's to locate another relocated thread in the future.
The Bill of Rights doesn't grant us our rights, it merely enumerates them.

Well, now I'm really confused -- if you never go to the Soapbox and your post wasn't about any particular thread, then what prompted your post in the first place? Aside from the SB, I really haven't seen any un-civility whatsoever on these boards ...
