Wii Fit is pretty freakin' cool! You'll have quite a bit of fun with it (and stay in shape at the same time). I actually like most of the Wii games. They're not as "complicated" as XBox and Playstation games.

But I did ask my daughters and they love it , they even have an Wii accessory that lets you do Yoga kinda thingy and other exercises , they do use it often . As for the Fit part you made a good purchase IMO and I hate to say it but you may need to buy the accessories if needed ? ?
Yes Wii in general is not for the hard core gamers at all
my wife uses the Wii fit every morning and has since she got it for x-mas. i use it occasionally, but i'd much rather play my new Tiger Woods golf with the motion extension. i agree with Giz that the Wii is easier than the other gaming consoles. seems just right for me after growing up with the ease of Atari 2600. ;~)
I purchased the Wii for my grandson as a birthday present this year. I really got a good deal from Target as the Wii turned out to be a starter kit with all the trimmings. He called me that night & told me he had the best birthday ever thanks to Nana!
After that, I started going over to the "club house." to play Wii bowling & Wii Band. Never knew I could play drums so damn good. Never bothered with the Wii Fit game. I have no need to get fit.
I just may "treat" myself this xmas.
P.S. My niece works for or with the game designer Shigeru Miyamoto in Japan.
