AC's out, we'll be lucky to have it fixed by Monday. Meanwhile, it can get 95+ inside. I remember my old PowerMac heaved when it hit 90. I'm already too hot and cranky to try to find out the max for my MacPro via the Google.
Anybody know? Oh yeah, got a project due Monday, but we've already figured out Plan B ~ PDF what I've got, slap it up on MobileMe and stock in several cases of Lone Star, minimum 20 lbs of ice ~ that'll hold us till Friday. [weak laugh][/weak laugh]

Line voltage: 100-120V AC or 200-240V AC (wide-range power supply input voltage) Frequency: 50Hz to 60Hz single phase Current: Maximum of 12A (low-voltage range) or 6A (high-voltage range) Operating temperature: 50° to 95° F (10° to 35° C) Storage temperature: -40° to 116° F (-40° to 47° C) Relative humidity: 5% to 95% noncondensing Maximum operating altitude: 10,000 feet
95 is max ambient temp, the max temperature of the environment it's operating in. And that's just an estimate based on good airflow around the unit. If it doesn't have good airflow around the computer, such as under a desk, a 95 degree room may be too hot since ambient of the computer would then be higher.
You'll be on the edge if it's going to be 95 outside. You'll know if it's too hot, the MP will heave too. You want to keep air moving around it, a fan pointing at the front might help. Not right up against it, a few feet back to shove the exhaust away from it. Luckily the Intel doesn't run as hot.
86° and falling! The AC gods were on our side, the guy actually showed up this AM. He did say it's a good thing this didn't happen last month ~ They were on a 4-5 day backlog (we had two weeks of 100°+ temps while I was working in the Valley).
Thank you, peeps, as always for your concern and advice. And yes, Nuc, I had cruised Apple last, the specs are there for everything you'd ever want to know about whatever model. Duh on me for missing the KISS approach.
All's well that ends.
