Is there a product that will allow me to connect the monitor and the HDTV which allows switching from one to the other via DVI connections (1 connection to the computer's DVI out and 2 DVI out ports) that won't break the bank?

Isn't that called an AVM switch?

I looked for KVM switches, but they were for the opposite direction from what I want to do.

Not sure what you want to do. Connect the computer to one of the HDTV's DVI ports?

Don't understand that, or maybe it's too early and I'm too dense today. smirk

I want to use the one DVI out on the mini and be able to switch between the HDTV (would be via DVI to HDMI cable) and the computer monitor without having to disconnect one in order to connect the other.

That's what I figured you wanted. Something like this. You need a reverse KVM.

Here's one that's just a cable, no amplifier.

Not sure why one amplifies, but the other doesn't. Maybe call them and pick their brains. At least you're now pointed in the right direction.

Search using the term one source to two displays or DVI splitter

I don't want to drive both the monitor and HDTV at the same time (I doubt the mini can even do that), so the splitter cable won't do. Maybe I'll just settle on simply unplugging one and plugging in the other as desired.

The TV has an input selector, you can turn off the monitor and switch to the HDMI input on the TV whether you use the box or the cable. Not sure if I'd trust the cable without talking to someone there first. And it's $80 for the box, so if you're not doing it that often unplugging is free. grin

It will only be the rare occasion that I would want to view something on the HDTV. I have a boxed DVD set that, for some reason, will not play on my DVD player. The DVDs play just fine on the mini. If I do decide to rent a movie from the iTunes store, it would be nice to view it on the 32" TV rather than the 19" monitor. wink
