Yes, I am a sucker and went with MobileMe. This despite the fact that I don't synch anything, have an iPhone or even iPod, don't use calender. In fact, for me, .Mac was for sharing images via my iDisk folder, my .Mac mail account and my crappy web page. Yes, I know I can get all these services for free out there in various ways but I am old and cranky and resistant to change (plus I need to feel that am helping out my 80 shares of AAPL).

My problems? Do I need to bother using the MM e-mail account (which I can't even figure out how to access) since the .Mac account still works? Is iDisk just iDisk and I don't have to change anything unless I want to take advantage of Gallery's features?

I have poked around Apple's support for MobileMe and googled for some tutorials but still am perplexed.

Thanks in advance.

me.com and mac.com email accounts are interchangeable. Emails addressed as either will end up in your mac.com mailbox in Mail.app. To access your mail via the webmail interface, you have to log in to www.me.com. iDisk remains the same as it was. homepage.mac.com still works for access to that as in posting pictures, etc. here. If you need to produce/maintain a web site on your iDisk, you'll need to use a third party editor or application since the .mac web site tool is no longer available.

Thanks for the quick, concise answer. I guess like anything else, I need to play around with it. The main thing is the bit about iDisk. I guess I still want to put individual images in there if I am linking to them for, say, a forum post but MM Gallery is more for sharing bunches of pics with whomever.

Since posting my query, I have been fiddling with my gallery. If I have done it right, here is a album of images from Sanibel and Cayo Costa (mostly the later).

Thanks again.

I suppose so. I am still working with iLife '04 and behind the times. I will probably make the upgrade since iPhoto isn't supported by MM. Good excuse to go the the Apple store. cool

Thanks for the compliment, Michael. Nature does the work, I just point and shoot.

Nice Gallery slide show. Wish I wuz there. I've had dotmac and mobile me for 100 years more or less . . . love it. You can upgrad cheaper than $99 by watching Amazon for $60 - $70.
