Are they the same as Gold Cups? That used to be the sock you had to wear when I was in elementary school if you wanted to be cool.

Great wits are sure to madness near allied.--John Dryden, "Absalom and Achitophel"

Are they the same as Gold Cups?

Not sure, if they changed their name. But I have not bought a sock in 5 years their that good.

Maybe its just me but a crappy sock just pisssses me off.

Oddly enough, you can learn about then at http://www.goldtoe.com/! I used to wear them too, then ended up with some recent Hanes which have been nice. But my favorites are still DC Ruler and Stilt socks in black, they have a nice quilted area in the arch that feels quite nice. The Rulers are just impossible to find.

well, you buy new socks and you still have to wash them after you wear em...same number of washes.

my white walmart socks last me about 4 - 5 months (they're pretty durable -- hanes i think) before they start to lose the elasticity and/or before they start to get worn. my wife does complain that i buy socks too often -- i think i just fail to throw away the old ones so my collection of socks is quite large.

i want socks i can wear with khakis. i hate dress socks because they always lose their elasticity far too quickly. plus, they tend to be thinner and i like to wear my ecco shoes (i am a shoe connoisseur) with jeans and white thicker athletic socks so the shoes don't fit as well when i wear khakis and tan dress socks. i need tan thicker athletic socks. anyone see these anywhere?

[color:blue] -sean
LOL! That's right!

I'll say this, too. There's nothing like putting on a fresh, crisp pair of clean white socks after a shower. A pair of socks beyond three months old robs me of this experience.
