i have the current 8GB 3G iPhone as well. i am going to try out OS 3.0 first . . . but i could easily drop $99 to get the 8GB 3GS version instead. i have barely filled up 1/2 of my 8GB iPhone so far and i have no reason to go for a larger HD in one. hmmmm. hmmm.

Hmmmm ... not a great start =P
I can understand the clunkyness of the ordering pages right now because they must be getting slammed, but this is the pricing page I get:
I'm an existing customer and have upgraded every time so far ... I *really* hope these aren't the prices they're offering to upgrade -- $299 for the 8GB??!!
Yikes!
=/
[update]
The small print:
"2) Requires new two-year AT&T wireless service contract, sold separately to qualified customers; credit check required; must be 18 or older. For non-qualified customers, including existing AT&T customers who want to upgrade from another phone or replace an iPhone 3G, the price with a new two-year agreement is $499 (8GB), $599 (16GB), or $699 (32GB)."
AT&T shoots itself in the foot. Frakking your existing customers in the butt = lost sale and lost new 2-year contract. Good job, dicks.
