Okay, I never thought I'd be getting one of these, but then I never expected to want to have regular chats with a mate in Santa Fe!

This Plantronics .Audio 625 is pretty good - only £18/$23, headphone sound is not at all bad even for listening to music, and this is the first time I've had the opportunity to use the OSX audio input noise-cancelling thingy, which actually works very well, not much distortion at all. The mic is a little under-sensitive, I can't get it to peak the audio input even when it's right up against my mouth - but that's probably a good thing - anyway, I speak quietly, I'm told.

The headphones (apart from being quite comfortable) come with a prretty long lead, but have the option of plugging either directly into the phone/mic sockets, ot plugging its jacks into a USB widget instead (for those folks whose phone/mic sockets are at the back of some box under a desk).

Let the awkward silences commence!
