A few thoughts after hearing the judge yapping about it who is gay also .
1 - I don't think she lost because of what she said
2 - What she said was her opinion "IMO" and she also said people should have choices .
3 - The gay judge is way way way over reacting , it almost sounds like he took it personal
4 - I don't think politically / emotionally charge questions should be asked in these pageants . They are not running for elected office and they can't change anything anyway . If they are going to ask those questions then it should be the same one for them all .
Admittedly I posted this to see if the flames would rise again. Maybe it was a bad play on my part. But..
"Men who are sexually attracted to men do have an affliction caused by emotionally remote fatherhood in infancy"
My father left home when I was two, and I had negligible and fleeting input from anything approaching a warm, loving male father figure, and most certainly none in my infancy. Never once did I feel any ambiguity or doubt; I was always sure I liked women. Of course, I'm just a lucky exception right? My gay friends, many (certainly not all) who had the kind of emotionally close father you, km, describe tell me that they always knew they liked men; even if they may or may not have tried to deny it for some period of time.
"I'd love to see you split hairs between "affliction" and "mental disorder."
Me too, Kojak.

I completely support gay marriage but this whole thing is ridiculous. If I had been a judge I would have groaned when she got to "my country" but she has a right to believe what she wants to believe about same sex marriage. The judge who asked the question and the fact that he marked her down made him into a total a-hole. He also went onto his blog the next day and called her a dumb b!tch on a video.
From reports it is obvious she was in the lead and his giving her a zero put her in second place. Because she is a conservative Christian she gets nixed as Miss America.
That really sucks.
The a-hole judge set the same sex marriage movement back by being such a dick.
i don't think it sux at all . . . maybe if i cared about the pageant, perhaps??? Miss America Pageant chose to hire a popular gossip blogger -- that should reveal how serious they take their own pageant. what did they honestly expect when the guy made a career of fighting for gay issues and outing celebrities and making a career out of sensationalism? they're getting what they deserve.
Yep I completely agree , that judge took it way to personal . I fact he has been all over CNN today making an even bigger stink out of it .
CNN interview another judge who didn't even question her answer , her only remark was that Miss Cali didn't really answer the question "should all states ?" but this judge did not dock her down in points .
