Ram is sooo cheap these days.. I picked up 4 gigs of ram for 82.00 (2) 2 sticks.. for weird total of 9 gigs. Now those pesky 1+ gig files won't be holding me up in PS anymore!
It doesn't matter who you get it from, RAM is RAM is RAM.
You'll probably be right 98 percent of the time. When memory for the Mac Pros first came out, some of the modules had heat sink issues. One time I bought memory from a vendor (I forget which one) for my iBook. I started getting kernel panics. I sent the memory back and asked for their more expensive memory...problem solved.
My favorite vendor is OWC.
