After I jailbroke my iphone so I could use it as a modem while my broadband was not running yet, I lost the sound on the phone - that is, no ringtones or alert tones. I figured something I'd installed through Cydia had broken the audio, and once my broadband was running again, I did a restore on the phone to get back to where it had been beforehand. Still silent - I called Support, and they smilingly (I could hear the corners of their mouth over the phone) pointed out that the thing I'd thought was a lock button on the side was actually a silent switch.
So I've got my tones back - now I have to decide if it's worth all the faff of jailbreaking again just so I can have copy/paste on the iphone. It felt really good, though! The front runner, clippy, is good, but the first one I installed, hKeyboard, was better thought out, I think. Okay, I've talked myself into it...
