Grover Norquist was on the Lehrer Newshour last night. I caught only part of what he had to say, but did hear his high dudgeon at the response to Limburger's "hope the president fails." "Obama is not Louis XIV," says Grover, "his failure is not the failure of the nation. Only a megalomaniac like Obama would make that claim."
At the same time, Grover said that the Republicans can now be on the rise because they don't have the dead weight of Bush's policies to defend. So when Dubya was in power, it wasn't good to say that one hoped the president would fail because that would be what . . . a threat to the country? the party? The party is more important than principle? Oh dear, Grover!!
By the way, Yoo should be put in Guantanamo.
