i am pretty happy with my combo of Firefox on my Mac Pro and Flock on my Macbook . . . but a major upgrade to Safari is always worth considering. perhaps i'll check it out.

I might play with it for a little while on one of my machines while it's still in beta. From what I've seen so far, Safari 4 looks great. I'm impressed with the speed of development. The Webkit team is kickin' butt. It supports web standards better than other browsers and is faster and more efficient. This is good for Safari and other browsers based on Webkit. If you're doing Javascript, the new Nitro engine seems to put Safari in the lead. Firefox is apparently having trouble with TraceMonkey due to stability issues.
I have to say that I'm surprised at how many people rely on an unsupported hack like 1Password. I don't doubt the convenience some get from it, but I would have thought that lessons of past stability problems would make more people wary of such apps. I guess not.
i guess i don't see the problem with 1Password. if it ever caused problems, couldn't i just disable the plugin and move on? help me understand how it could harm me potentially . . . down the road. TIA.
and yes, i was screwed by the APE hack. but 1Password doesn't appear to be at the system level like APE was.

So far so good ...
The new tabs scheme will take a bit of getting used to, but I understand why they did it ...
Still doesn't work with my bank's site (but then, neither did v03 -- I hear this is the site's coding more than that of Safari, but still ...) so I guess I still have to open FF to access that, which is a shame ...
1Password is an Input Manager ...it injects code into Cocoa applications. This can potentially be used for evil purposes so Apple has started coaxing developers away from using them. In fact, there is talk about Apple killing off Input Managers altogether. This could indeed happen with Snow Leopard. Not sure what the 1P team's backup plan is if this happens ..but they said they had been looking into it.
That being said ...I love my 1Password! ...oh, and if you want to enable it in the new Safari all you have to do is change a value in the 1P SupportedBrowsers.plist link-o It works fine.
