I accidentally cleared my history in Safari this afternoon. Fine, so it'll take awhile before I get the all blue = read threads back. That I can live with.

The Problem: Almost every post I click appears as it should, then my view drops to the bottom of the thread like some insane elevator plunge. Seriously, with a long thread in LeBox? I'm getting sea sick. I have to scroll like a geko back up a wall to see the post.

I haven't messed with any of my prefs here or in Safari. Any clues? Will this stop happening when I get back in synch with blue = read? It's driving me . Granted, that's a short trip. Ideas?

That happens to me too, but only in some of the forums. The Desktop forum always does it, and I think others do too, but I've stopped noticing. One thing you might try is holding the up-arrow button down when you go to a thread or a forum. It could be my imagination, but I think that keeps you at the top.

That happened when you deleted history? Or was it Reset Safari from the menu. I just sacrificed my history and it doesn't do it for me.

I restored it from a backup of course.

I restored the safari.plist and history.plist from this AM. A quick drive around the place and it appears that my falling down rate has decreased drastically. Bonus ~ I've got a hefty chunk of my blue = read posts back.

I normally get a half drop but only when there is a photo thats embedded in a thread

I love Time Machine.

Earlier today, I was (actually) working and decided, a couple of hours into what I was doing, that my new and improved approach to this particular file completely sucked ~ Why the hell did I do that? Damn.

And then I realized ~ HA! ~ I was obsessive about backing up in Tiger, but not like this!

OK, exit laughing ~ The first day I had Leopard running, I must have hit TM a dozen times. Just to watch.

I tried that (before I restored some stuff), but no joy. I'm still falling down this AM, but at a fraction of yesterday's rate. I'm second nature with the Home key in ID. Well, Doh! It's a whole lot better than my mad geko scroll back up to a post.

I wonder, have we always had falling down issues? Until yesterday, I'd never noticed the phenom. All this intertube stuff is beyond the sweet mystery of life to me.

I'm a threaded kind of guy, so I can't help you. Didn't someone post early on when this forum went "live" that it automatically goes to the most recent reply in a thread/topic?

I'm threaded, too, Michael. I know most folks are flat and I do remember that auto-recent thingie. No telling. I understand we're in the minority, but I can't fathom why anybody would want to flat cruise fora. Threaded is much more elegant, efficient and makes multi-threaded threads a whole lot easier to follow.

Consider us rebels without a pause, huh?
