It upsets me a bit that as a bloke, being nude somehow automatically labels me as a pervert. Mind you, I was on that holiday with my girlfriend, and at one point we were lying both topless at the top of a fairly remote crag when some kids came by, and we could hear the whispering and giggling about 'her boobs' - eventually she started to feel a bit uncomfortable about it and covered up, which was sad.
I have also been on a 'nude is okay' beach on Fuertaventura, and that was really fine - adults, kids, whoever, some clothed some not. Very comfortable all round, and okay because it was 'officially okay' there. I'd like more of that experience, but I'd like it in England - if only it were warmer!
Oh, and I like my avatar too much to give it up - unless I can find a picture of Batman & Robin naked . That reminds me, I read this great story in one of the study texts I was reading on gender issues last year. Someone apparently witnessed this at an art gallery: a very small boy and girl were standing looking at an old master painting of Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden - one kid said to the other "Which one's which?" and the other kid replied "I don't know, they haven't got their clothes on..."

In my part of Germany (the former East), nude family beaches used to be the norm. That has changed a little, since people from the West are coming here, but it is still no issue.
Personally, I am by far not that at ease with it, because I have been overweight all my life. But back in Nova Scotia, I enjoyed many summer afternoons, riding my Harley along the shores to a beach some 50kms east of Halifax. 5 miles of sand and nobody there during the week. There it felt great to walk naked into the surf, just the sand, sky and water. And my first wife's family had a cottage just outside Quebec City.. there, we always went swimming in the nude. No other cottage on the whole lake. Here, we swim mainly at lakes around Berlin, but I have learned that nobody cares what you look like and so, while I still wear shorts, I don't mind getting changed in the breeze, because it is so much nicer to step into the dry pants with a toweled behind.
A funny thing happened when Katrina and I went to the Baltic the first time. She was about 11. A group of guys was playing volley ball - in the nude - and Katrina was reading. The ball got away from the players, and one of them ran toward us, trying to catch it. He was about four feet away from Katrina, who suddenly looked up and found herself in proximity of his central parts. She was speechless for a few seconds and then broke out laughing that this was probably a little closer than necessary. But she certainly wasn't in any way disturbed.
that's my take on nudity.
