Theres a bunch of links to this in another thread posted some months ago.
Which came to the same conclusion SteveG just said. Let me tell you a story: I have been driving all night and now my wife takes the wheel. As I fall asleep she is stuck in traffic but leaves it in 4th lugging the engine. As I nod off to sleep I say, "gee honey down shift" which she does.
I wake up an hour later to the glow of my transmission as we are flying down the highway going 70 in second gear.
Question: Who is at fault? You would say it was my fault. I would disagree. ;-) To connect the dots in my story I am Bill Clinton and my wife is George Bush. (And this story never happened, my wife drives a manual almost as well as I can.)
HuH ? ? Sorry is this another planting Onions and guys playing baseball in your backyard analogies ? ? Sometimes you just have to put it into "neutral" if you know what I mean ?
