"The clown funnied his way to the big top." Isn't that intransitive since the prepositional phrase "to the top" acts as an adverb and needs to be there? Or something like that. Good grief I actually liked diagramming sentences in grade school but that might have been the last time i had ever thought of it.
For some reason I liked prepositional phrases. Maybe because they were easy to spot but then they were so devious and could trick you.
