well kinda... still vibrates (doesn't ring) but there's no screen and no touch activity.
Took to Apple Store and they said can't fix... get new one... luckily the AT&T account is in my wife's name and I couldn't buy one there (wo her to sign new contract).
So I've decided to forgo a phone for a few days until After the MacWorld to see if there are any New news about 3rd Gen. iPhone.
We'll see, if no news then I may buy a cheapie phone and forgo iPhone for a month or 2. I hate to buy a 3G 2rd Gen. iPhone, and then a month later they announce a new one !! AS If this isn't "Bummer" enough !!

How long have you had it? Has it "acted up" before this? Did you get Apple Care? I don't think Apple will release a new iPhone within the next 6 months, but what do I know. BUMMER DUDE. Keep us informed…
I got it on THE iPhone Release Night 6-29-07 ! ...so it's about 18 months old.
News is that something is coming 1st quarter 2009 maybe in Jan (late). I think they'll announce something next week at MW. IF there's just 1-3 months to go... then I'll get a cheepie generic phone with NO contract and wait it out. I'm not spending $199 for a 3G phone that'll be "old hat" in 30-90 days !
I bought someone an iPhone gift card and then found out they don't want it. Silly wife...oh well. The guy at the Apple store said I wuld be able to return the gift card if need be... he didn't know what he was taliking about (holiday help! grrr) It says on the receipt No Returns.
So I am on a 1st gen iPhone myself and waiting to see what happens also. I doubt anything will be released though... what could thay possibly do that would warrant a new Gen iPhone?
