Hey Neil, I signed up for the trial, and thought maybe I didn't do it right since I never got a trial mag. Now I receive the letter saying my trial has ended/ do I wanna pay for a year?
I dunno, I was hoping to get a copy and make a decision.
I don't know about 'free'. I thought we got a special price of $9.95 or something like that. I believe I signed up for it but haven't received it yet. According to the email I got, I will get the first issue January 09
In the last couple of days, you applied for a complimentary subscription to MacTech Magazine through Microsoft Survey - MacMinute. You have qualified for the free subscription, and as you know from the original form, you only need to pay for the postage &handling ($9.95).
The subscription will activate with the January '09 issue.

kate, there was a free trial, which i did. it gave us one magazine, which i got. you are referencing the subscription that was advertised. i did that as well for $9.95 and i should get the first issue next month -- i didn't do it right away like you apparently did.
actually, it looks like you got a 6 month subscription. the post at the top of the politix forum is the same price for an annual subscription. that's what i signed up for. na-na-na-nah!
My lawyer is suggesting we start impeachment proceedings against NeilTicktin!

Either I was penalized for taking advantage of the earlier offer or . . . he is discriminating against old wimmin! [ rollin me eyes ] [and] [ of course, just kidding, Neil . . .]
For the record, I gotta tell you that the customer service I received was EXCELLENT.
When I signed up for a subscription, it wasn't until after I received an email to let me know when I would receive the first issue that I noticed I mis-typed my address in the form.
I fired off an email with the correction request, fully expecting to have it returned with some automated email "sorry, this is an automated email, we don't check it... blah, blah, blah." To my surprise, in a matter of minutes I received an email back from some woman (can't recall her name) telling me she made the correction and it would not result in any delay.
Not a huge deal, but so very nice to see great customer service for a change, especially considering it's a trial issue type of thing...

Did you drop an email to cust service about the missing issue? That doesn't sound right to me.
If not, drop me an email at publisher@MacTech.com and I'll check into it when I'm back next week from Macworld.
Thanks!
Neil
Neil,
Are you speaking to Kate?
Did I say I was missing an issue?
Would someone point that out to me? I can't find my words saying that? Ha!
In any case, I should stop trying to communicate with you Neil. I never seem to be able to express myself coherently enough for you to understand me. Ha!
Please ignore me.
I subscribed. I paid money for 6 month subscription. I am receiving said magazine successfully and have absolutely NO complaints.
Forgive me for using this means to communication. I know you said you prefer email.
With sincere appreciation, Ethel aka Kate Sorensen McMinnville, Oregon
