If he plans connecting wireless to Xbox Live the router's SSID can not be hidden. The 360 wireless adapter will not recognize the router unless SSID is visible.. Basic WEP protection will be fine for Xbox Live. Xbox and Xbox Live have security built in. The PlayStation does well with wireless and connections are secure as well as the PlayStation Network. Broadcasting the SSID is no big deal. Also he will have to enable 802.11g broadcast to connect with the Xbox and the PlayStation
Yes I plan on using the 360 and ps3 on it, that is pretty much why I got the router. What is the best way to make it secure? Also is there a way to not broadcast when im not using the 360 or ps3 on it?
