Check iLounge--you can sort their reviews by category and then by rating, IIRC. They don't like Apple products, but they compare others pretty thoroughly.
I got a very good deal from Amazon by watching their deals of the day specials before Christmas. I went with a Plantronics and it has worked quite well for me.

Common sense and deodorant are a lot alike. People who need it the most don't use it.
Etymotic has had one of the best on the market for more than a year now, but I saw this one from Iqua (www.igua.com) that's solar powered. Very trick. Solar is actually a great idea because charging headphones is a drag and very inconvenient, especially if you use in the car a lot.
But neither of these companies are giving the things away for free...
Typo on the one website. Should be www.iqua.com (Q not G). Apologies.
And "idiot"??? C'mon macbeemer, we're just trying to share info here. For the rest of us who don't live in a basement, having a headset that charges itself might be a consideration. (BTW, it doesn't need direct sun, just any light at all - like the calculators. The lights in the SF convention hall charged it just fine.)
